The new album Lasting Impression is a collection of songs that Yiannis has written predominantly very recently but also throughout the years since 2003.  Prior to the release of this album, Yiannis was most renowned for his trademark ballads.  However, while Lasting Impression nods to this genre by including three ballads, there is certainly a shift in direction in regard to the remainder of his overall sound. 

Yiannis comments: “I have worked with a fantastic producer – Massimo Braghieri (intonoise@gmail.com) – on the whole of this album and he has put so much of himself into the project.  I am incredibly proud of the results and feel I have finally made an entire album of material that is as strong in its production values as it is in every other way.  I wanted to create a sound that is predominantly very commercial but with an edge and I believe Massimo and I have succeeded in achieving that.  A friend of mine recently described some of the songs as ‘a great pop sound with grit and substance’ – I love that definition so I’m running with it!  Some of the tracks are very different from each other which makes it hard to categorise this album.   However, while I always think it’s a little cringe-worthy to make comparisons with very established artists, all pretension aside, I would say the general overall feel is modern Kylie meets Justin via Britney’s Blackout album with a little dash of Mika!”
